Spreading Warmth and Hope at Christmas: Winserve’s Donation to Homeless Hampers

Our team members, Emily and Melody with Tina, the lead manager of Homeless Hampers

As we enjoy the festive season, it's important to remember Christmas is a time of giving. As such, we must remember that there are people less fortunate than most of us. This year, Winserve Care have provided Homeless Hampers with a donation of £500 worth of warm clothing to the homeless and vulnerable individuals in our local Leeds community.

We first donated to Homeless Hampers in 2021, gifting £300 worth of warm clothing for the homeless. As part of our commitment to ‘Empowering Lives, Enriching Communities,’ we strongly believe in giving back to the communities we promise to serve. We began to donate to Homeless Hampers due to the significant number of homeless people in Leeds who have served in the military. At Winserve, Our CEO is a veteran and is always keen to support veterans in our community. As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting veterans, we want to extend our support to those now experiencing homelessness locally.

Our 2023 Donation

We communicated with the charity lead, Tina, about what was most in need of homeless individuals. She revealed there was a pressing need for warm clothing during the colder months. Warm clothing is not just about providing comfort but is also vital to reducing the risk of cold-related illnesses, such as Pneumonia, among the homeless population. At Winserve, through our partnerships with local councils, we support many vulnerable individuals who can severely be affected during the colder weather, as well as those who have experienced homelessness and poverty in the past. With this in mind, we were more determined to ensure that our contribution was meaningful.

To assure our support made the best impact, Winserve gifted Homeless Hampers £500 worth of warm clothing items, which included scarves, hats, coats, thermals, leggings, underwear, and jumpers, to the homeless community.

We aimed for our contribution to offer comfort and safety to those in need this winter. We extend our gratitude to Homeless Hampers for their extraordinary efforts, and for keeping up the fantastic work of safeguarding those experiencing homelessness in Leeds and surrounding areas.

In 2024, Winserve Care is looking to further expand its charitable efforts and do more to improve the lives of vulnerable individuals in the communities we support.
