From Manager to Marathon Runner

We are proud to announce that our Registered Manager, Amon, ran the Manchester Marathon on Sunday 16th April 2023, raising over £1,200 for Cancer Research UK and we extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to him.

Amon has been preparing for the marathon for months, training during early mornings and late nights after work. Despite the challenges involved, Amon was determined to complete the race and raise money for Cancer Research.

“We work every day with service users who have cancer.” Amon says “I lost my father and my sister to cancer, and several of our service users in palliative care are fighting cancer. We realise the importance of Cancer Research to reduce people’s suffering.”

The funds raised by Amon will go towards Cancer Research UK, a leading charity dedicated to finding ways to reduce, prevent and treat the disease. Their fundraising and impeccable patient support and advocacy is an inspiration to ourselves and the individuals we support every day.

As a homecare provider, we have seen first hand the devastating impact cancer can have on the lives of individuals and their loved ones. Seeing the strength and resilience of these individuals has been a constant source of inspiration and motivation for us all at Winserve. We extend our heartfelt thank you for all the generous donations made. Your contribution into raising awareness of the important work done by Cancer Research UK has not gone unnoticed.

Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by Cancer, and we pledge to continue supporting important causes such as this in the future.

Amon’s advice – “Do it once in your life, its testing, but fulfilling.”
